Preschool (Ages 3–4)
This program seeks to develop the total child, spiritually,
physically, mentally, socially, and emotionally. The teachers
strive to build good social and work habits and encourage
the child's own creative and constructive efforts. Our approach
stresses both individual learning and group activities through
guided discovery.
We have two programs available. Both programs run in the morning
from 8:45 AM to 11:45 AM. Our 2-day program is designed for
children who are three years old by October 1. This program
takes place on Tuesday/Thursday or Wednesday/Friday. Our 3-day
program is designed for children who are four years old by
October 1. This program takes place on Monday/Wednesday/Friday
or Tuesday/Thursday/Friday. An optional extended-day program
(from 1 to 5 afternoons) is available for children in our
3-day program.
New for 2010-2011 – we are offering
a shorter school year program for our Preschool 3’s
and 4’s. This year will end in May, and offers a lesser
tuition cost.
Our Christian Philosophy is emphasized throughout our Pre-School
curriculum. Bible content is taught in each of the classes.
Readiness (Ages 5)
The Readiness program seeks to develop the total child, spiritually,
physically, mentally, socially and emotionally. This program
has periods of active play along with quiet learning experiences.
The Readiness class is unique in that it is designed for the
child who is of Kindergarten age, but the parent and school
feel another year of preparation would benefit him/her. Every
child will complete a program designed to prepare them for
Kindergarten. The Readiness program takes place five mornings
a week from 8:45 AM to 11:45 AM. An optional extended-day
program (from 1 to 5 afternoons) is available, if desired.
Kindergarten
ODCA believes that children should enter the Kindergarten
program when they are developmentally ready to do so, thus
assuring a smoother transition into a structured educational
experience. Any child entering our program must be 5 years
of age by October 1.
Bible, language development, art, music, story telling, social
development, science, math and field trips are all part of
our Kindergarten curriculum. A formal reading program is included.
Our Kindergarten places an emphasis on academic readiness.
Our Kindergarten class meet each weekday morning from 8:45
AM to 11:45 AM. This class is designed to prepare the student
to enter first grade. An optional extended-day afternoon program
(from 1 to 5 afternoons) is available, if desired.
