Open Door Christian Academy, established in 1975,
is a ministry of Church
of the Open Door.
Philosophy
We espouse the historic Christian view of life as presented
in the Bible. Since God created and sustains everything through
His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, the world and life are God-centered
and should glorify Him, for this is the chief end of man. Man,
being a sinner by nature and by choice, cannot in this condition
glorify or know God in a saving relationship. He can do this
only by being regenerated by God’s Spirit thus enabling
him to believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
Goals at ODCA
The goal of our education process is the Godly development of
the student in the following areas:

Through the direct or implied teaching of Biblical principles
as they relate to the subject matter using the Bible as
the foundational textbook. |

Through the mastery of basic skills and exposure to
academic knowledge in light of God’s Word. |
| Emotional |
To address understanding oneself in light of God’s
creative plan as being created male and female –
we provide a positive atmosphere where each student learns
that he/she is valued by God as a special part of His
creation. |

Through recognizing and responding to individual uniqueness
and differences and how each student contributes to the
body of Christ. |
| Physical |
Through a planned developmental program of health and
physical activity, instruction, and one’s responsibility
to care for his/her body as the temple of God. |
Our teaching staff & faculty love our students. They also

Mission Statement
We are an educational ministry to children operating as an extension
of the Christian home to prepare students spiritually and academically
to live the Christian life in our contemporary society.

ODCA School Board
The function of the School Board is to establish the basic policies
within which the headmaster, Dr. Dawes, is to administer the
school. It consists of members from the school and church along
with members of the elder board of COD. They function as a legislative
resource, a spiritual guidepost, a sounding board, and a tool
for making recommendations in support of the overall ministry
and approval of COD as it pertains to the school.

International Student I-20's
ODCA has received approval by Immigration and Naturalization
Services to issue I-20's to nonimmigrant (F-1 students).
Accreditation
Open Door Christian Academy is dually accredited
by the Association of Christian Schools International (A.C.S.I.)
as a part of the Middle States Association. Our school has
been accredited for over 28 years shortly after the founding
of our school in 1975. The school community values the accreditation
process which gives us a thorough evaluation as our total
school program and we continue to receive a stamp of approval
by these accreditation boards.
Our preschool was accredited in 2006. This makes our school
one of three schools in the North East Region of A.C.S.I.
having a preschool through 8th grade accreditation. This is
quite a significant accomplishment.
